The Narrandera District Community Radio Station made its first broadcast on 27th January, 2005. The idea of Narrandera having a Community Radio Station was first floated some 25 year earlier, and it was not until the end of 2004 that the idea became a reality. There was resounding support for a Community Radio Station and with the Narrandera Council and the Bendigo Bank coming on board the dream became a reality. The stations first temporary licence was for issued in 2004 with a range of only 50 watts. We now have a full licence and our range has been increased to 150 watts. Over the past 10 years the Narrandera District Community Radio Station has become an integral part of the Narrandera Shire District with in excess of 70,000 music tracks in our music library and 35 volunteers nvolved in a variety of tasks it is most certainly a very successful Community Radio Station.

On Australia Day 2015, the Narrandera District Community Radio Station was awards Community Organisation of the Year in recognition for the contribution the station has made to our community and our station chairperson, and on air presenter, Mrs Barbara Bryon was awarded Citizen of the Year for her contribution to the radio station and the John O’Brien Festival.
